RF Microneedling

What is Radiofrequency Microneedling?

To understand what radiofrequency microneedling is and how it works, it first helps to know the factors that contribute to radiant, youthful skin. Young skin looks fabulous due to collagen and elastin fibers, which promote a healthy supportive network to keep your skin tight and supple. When you are young, your cells regularly turn over and renew to create smooth skin that has youthful contours, and ample blood supply delivers nutrients and oxygen to the skin to give it a beautiful glow and protect it from damage.

As you get older, these processes slow down – cellular turnover is not as frequent, which causes dead cells to accumulate on your skin and give it a dull appearance. Your body also naturally reduces production of collagen and elastin in your skin, and they can become broken down by environmental pollutants such as smoking and pollution as well as lifestyle factors such as sun exposure and stress. All of this leads to dull, wrinkled, and lax skin that can make you look older than you really are.

That’s where radiofrequency (RF) microneedling comes in. With this treatment, invasive face lifts can become a last resort option! RF microneedling is a combination of two procedures that are well-known to firm and tighten skin.

  • Microneedling stimulates your skin’s natural healing processes, blood flow, and the production of collagen and elastin by creating tiny punctures in the skin with very fine needles

  • RF energy is used to further tighten and firm your skin

  • At True North we take it a clinical step forward and add the power of exosomes and growth factors to help speed up recovery and increase collagen production for maximum results!

The two procedures are synergistic, meaning that the RF energy enhances the benefits of the microneedling process and vice versa. RF microneedling is especially helpful for combatting wrinkles around the eyes, cheeks, mouth and tightening of the neck.
